You are an iconoclast, Sarah. To come up with the idea that thin models are because fashion designers are lazy is utter genius. You've GOT TO get that into the zeitgeist!

Even better - thin models are a way of getting around a lack of talent.

Look back to the 1940s and 50s and designers had to use skill and talent to create beautiful outfits for women who were woman shaped and not straight up and down. That sort of skill has died and today anyone can be a designer because anyone can draw a piece of cloth that hangs well on an ironing board and then get some sweatshop machinist to run it up.

With today's shapeless models there is no need for design students to develop the dressmaking skills essential in the past.

So the whole thin model thing is a smokescreen.

Bring back proper fashion designers who can make clothes for the actual people buying them!

Get this out there.

Create the change you want to see in the world.
They do have ranges of clothes for younger women and I get a lot of stuff from Simply Be especially.

Another good place for up to a 22 is Dorothy Perkins. Most of their range is available up to a 22 and it's cheap(ish) cheerful stuff that is usually on trend and not frumpy. Evans go through stages where nothing in the sop is even remotely appealing but then if you catch them at the right time they have loads in and you just have to max out your card before anyone buys it all up!

In response to:New Look not very inspirational for plus sizes...

These shops think us curvier girls don't want to look stylish! The crop black jacket is great, perfect for the confused weather we are having. I also got the stainglass prom dress which I love, and also the face jumper which is lovely, but not for the summer, great for sparkling up the winter.

The stud and jewelled belt was the best buy as i have worn it loads already.

I got the domino dress, more as it was the statement piece, I have worn it once, the problem is the length is odd on me, so I will need to gert my sewing kit out.

I agree that it was a bit of a try hard collection, just wish there had been more of the accesories to choose from.
I think most of Evans clothes are pretty shapeless. And allit of the shops do it.. As do catologues!

I did buy a cute strapless dresss there last year but that was about it recently. Evans are the same with their cartoon & slogan tees. Am I the only one who thinks they are really tacky?

In response to:New Look not very inspirational for plus sizes...

I hadn't noticed this! I knew it happened in other shops but never though New Look would.

I always go and have a look at the inspire range but don't buy much. I think it takes the piss out of larger girls. It's all cartoon character t shirts and really impractical flimsy items and horrible bulky hoodies. Bleugh.
